Many of you know my son, Jack. We’re excited as he transitions from high school to Novi’s special programs to help with independent living & training. 

Often Jack follows me around right on my heels. I tell him to stop being ‘my shadow.’ He also likes to tell on me when I break our house rules like eating on the couch.  When he does, we call him-- 'a rat'.   Once, the two phrases happened to be used at the same time.  So, I said, “Jack, if you were in the special forces, your call-sign would be – ‘Shadow Rat.’ “ I then thought, “Hey that’s a cool name”… And here we are.
